Today, I am answering one of the most frequent questions I get in my inbox: 'What type of film do you use?
To be honest, when I first started shooting on film, I had already been following a good number of photographers and consuming a lot of information regarding the analog world, so It was very clear to me that Portra was the right choice for my work.
I started using Portra 400, but overtime I was curious to test other film stocks as well. So I tried Kodad Gold, Ektar, Ultramax, Delta and HP5, but there was one in particular that not so many people was talking about: Kodak Colorplus. This was first introduced to me by a photographer friend. I did not know about its existence, which is funny because it’s one of the oldest Kodak film stocks.
Choosing the right film can greatly influence the mood and quality of our images. So the post of this week is a comparison between this 2 stocks, that I have to say are my favorites either for professional work or just travel/life in general.
