#02 DIARY - Life update + next destination.
Finally sharing my upcoming trip! (and other things I've been working on lately).
I am currently in Buenos Aires, but If you read my first Diary post you know I’ve been planning on leaving soon. I'm thrilled to finally share that I'll be heading to Bali for two months! Ever since my first visit in October 2022, I've been longing to return, and now it's finally happening.
This trip has me very excited, as I’ll be producing shoots for a few brands I love, and I can’t wait to share all the details here after everything is done.
Initially, I thought I would focus on shooting and exploring the fashion industry in Buenos Aires. However, with Bali becoming a reality, I've decided to pour all my energy into it. I've been busy reaching out to freelance models, agencies, and brands, scouting locations, and getting creative with ideas for shoots. If you're a creative, model, or photographer in Bali during those months, please don't hesitate to message me—I’d love to connect!
I am flying on July 29th to Madrid, and then to Bali on August 6th. As the departure date gets closer I had to use my time to buy flights, insurance, visas, and administrative tasks. But despite all the preparation work, I still managed to pick up my camera a few times…
Recently, I did a shoot for SUNMUSE, a jewellery and eyewear brand I absolutely love and one of my first clients in Sydney. I shot this remotely for them, in a beautiful studio here in Buenos Aires, with model Sofia Rojo. I haven’t received the scans back from the lab yet, but can’t wait to share how the photos turned out. I’ll be doing a Behind-the-scenes post about this shoot soon, so keep an eye on this space!
On a different note, I also shot some interior/travel content for a Cabin resort. It was definitely something different but I really enjoyed it. Here are a few of my favorites:
Reducing the number of sessions I take on each month has allowed me to reflect deeply on my portfolio, assess my current aesthetic, and ensure my work aligns with my professional aspirations. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, taking the time to analyze my work is essential for achieving my goals.
Many photographers suggest using free time to collaborate with other creatives and models, constantly generating new work and expanding your network. While I agree that a larger network can be beneficial, I don’t believe in creating just for the sake of it. Many, including myself, have fallen into the trap of producing numerous shoots that don’t contribute to our desired aesthetic or help us connect with our dream brands.
Focusing on crafting one thoughtful, well-planned concept can be more valuable than doing ten sessions without real meaning.
This is the mindset I intend to maintain during this new phase of my career.
Coming up next on my Substack: the behind-the-scenes of my shoot for Sunmuse, a new inspiration shoot analysis, my thoughts on different film stocks and a very special interview!
As always if you have any question or topic suggestions feel free to message me here, or on my instagram.
