#01 INSPIRATION OF THE MONTH: ROWIE the label.
A campaign that inspired me recently & I think you will love as well.
For this month’s inspiration post, I’m excited to share the latest campaign from ROWIE the label, captured by the talented Jamie Green.
As someone who spends a lot of time scrolling on Pinterest and other creative platforms (check out my latest post “Where I Find Inspiration, Besides Pinterest” to see my favorites), I love discovering new brand campaigns and fresh imagery.
Recently, I came across this stunning shoot and knew it would be perfect to feature in this newsletter. Let’s dive in and have a look together…
To start, let’s talk about the brand. ROWIE the label is “an independent fashion brand based in Byron Bay, Australia, known globally for their timeless, elegant, and feminine pieces that evoke a carefree sense of ease.”
For this shoot, they teamed up with model Aude Mangharam and photographer Jamie Green (who they've worked with before) to bring this collection to life. I've seen other campaigns from this duo, which are great, but what really caught my eye about this one?
First of all, the amazing location. Shot in New Zealand’s breathtaking South Island, the backgrounds were carefully chosen so the landscape is just as important as the model. The minimal blur and harmonious colors complement the clothing, making the whole image come together beautifully. Even with the stunning scenery, the clever use of light and shadow makes sure the model grabs your attention first.
Next, the mood. There’s this nostalgic vibe that really draws me to this shoot. I can’t even tell if it’s all digital or if some of it’s shot on 120mm, but the editing, colors and storytelling are spot on, giving off that intimate, nostalgic energy. Plus, the model’s poses give a sense of freedom and grace, enhancing the connection to the story and leaving you wanting to see more.
In the next two photos, you can see how the team took advantage of a cloudy moment to create moodier shots, adding to the shoot’s vibe. When shooting on location, there are always changes and unexpected situations, so using the weather and light to your advantage is key to maximizing your time and the impact of your photos.
Last but not least, the model. Her graceful posing adds an elegant, editorial touch that fits the nostalgic and feminine vibe perfectly. Her expressions, combined with her eyes looking away from the camera and the movement, create a certain intrigue that captures the viewer's attention.
Analyzing different sessions or campaigns, paying attention to the light, the mood, the poses & the background, will help you to identify what you like and don’t like, so you can then apply it to your own photography.

Hope you enjoyed this post, and if you have anything to add I would love to read you on the comment section.
See you on the next post!
